A coworker of mine who tinkers with cars and even swapped the blown motor on his older Jag has proven to me I gave him too much credit for his auto common sense.
A customer pulled up in this :
And he says and I quote. “Man that car is nice. Must be a manual because it’s too low to be an automatic.”
I bit my tongue and quietly walked off.

Are those the wheels off the CC? I like them.

So if ride height is directly proportional to what transmission is in a vehicle, how high would a CVT sit?

Well obviously. You need ground clearance for all those gears in the autos, man.

Well for the R50 Mini the CVT actually hangs further out the bottom of the car than the manual so you could theoretically get a manual lower than a CVT.

CVT would probably sit lower to the ground because belts are thin.

Perhaps he meant “Since it’s lowered, it’s probably owned by an enthusiast, who would only buy a manual”?
Most auto Golf’s are owned by liberal ladies who don’t tend to slam their cars.

Very high. Like, Subaru Outback high.

I think you may be the only one who feels that way.

Naturally, I drive an auto Golf :) it is a GTI though.

Automatics need to be higher so you can swap out muffler bearings when they wear out.
